Pine Tree Watch is a nonprofit, nonpartisan news service of the Maine Center for Public Interest Reporting. Our news team uses data- and document-based reporting, plus challenging interviews, to produce investigative journalism that has an impact. Our stories hold Maine state government and institutions accountable and fulfill the responsibility of a free press in our democracy.
In addition to publishing all of our stories on our website, pinetreewatch.org, we distribute our investigative journalism across the state through more than 30 media partners and via social media.
The Pine Tree Watch team is based in the State House in Augusta, Maine.
